Now that you are two months pregnant, you can expect many exciting changes in the coming weeks, but most importantly you should be continuing to educating yourself about how to take care of your body throughout your pregnancy. By the end of this month you will have hopefully confirmed your pregnancy and started on a healthy diet that will help ensure the proper development of your baby. This also includes abstaining from such detrimental things as alcohol, cigarettes and recreational drugs.

It is also important that you immediately start taking prenatal vitamins, if you have not done so already. Ideally, you should have been taking these vitamins several months before your pregnancy (if it was planned), but if your pregnancy was a surprise, you need to begin taking your prenatal vitamins as soon as possible. These vitamins contain such essential vitamins as folic acid and iron, which will help sustain a healthy pregnancy and reduce the risks of your baby being born with birth defect.

2nd Month Of Pregnancy

This month can be a real wildcard for an expectant mother. Some women many have very few symptoms at this point, while others may suffer from such things as:

  • nausea
  • fatigue
  • tender breasts
  • the need to urinate frequently
  • heartburn
  • flatulence
  • vomiting

You may also notice that you are suffering from wild mood swings and also excessively worrying about the health of your baby and the potential of having a miscarriage. This is perfectly natural and happens to many pregnant women. If this is your first pregnancy, you may also be worrying about the unexpected months on the horizon and what will happen with you and your baby.

This uncertainty can raise your stress levels and it is extremely important that you begin to learn methods of relaxation early on in your pregnancy, to help you deal with this anxiety. To help control your stress levels, you will want to continue exercising and even consider taking up such activities as yoga.

How Your Baby Is Developing

This is an extremely important month as your baby is now an embryo. The heart of your baby will begin to beat and the buds that will eventually be the arms and legs of your baby are also starting to form. Your baby is now 9 – 11 mm big , which is about the size of a piece of rice.
