When an expectant mother is four months pregnant, she will still continue to go through both emotional and physical changes. It is quite common for many women at this stage of their pregnancy to start having dreams about the baby. These dreams can be quite powerful and many believe it is a way to help you connect with your unborn child. Some women report having dreams of what their unborn child will look like, while others have dreams of such things as kittens or baby cubs.

As your second trimester begins, it is likely that you will start to feel much better than you did in your first trimester. Expectant mothers at this stage usually feel less fatigued and have accepted the idea that they are pregnant. It is usually around this time that many pregnant women feel the most comfortable traveling, as their energy levels are generally higher and the bouts of nausea have hopefully subsided.

4th Month Of Pregnancy

While this is of course the most energetic you will most likely have felt throughout your pregnancy, it is possible that you are still experiencing such things as heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, the need to urinate frequently and odd food cravings.

You may also notice that your belly is starting to grow bigger and it may soon be time for a trip to the maternity store.

Many pregnant women at this stage also start to worry about finances and the costs of not only buying baby clothes and products, but how much it is going to cost to raise a child. This is just another example of the types of fears that can creep into the mind of an expectant mother, which is why it is important for you to continue to manage your stress and anxiety levels. It is vital that you continue to follow a healthy diet and follow a regular exercise routine, which can include walking, swimming or yoga.

How Your Baby Is Developing

While the gender of your baby has been determined, the genitalia is still developing and it is still quite difficult to determine what the sex of your baby is through an ultrasound at this point in time. Your baby still has an extremely large head that is quite disproportionate to the rest of the body, but many of the vital organs are working now and the circulatory system is developing rapidly.

Your baby also now has teeth as well and weighs between 83 – 85 grams and is about 6 inches long.
