Five Months Pregnant
Once an expectant mother is five months pregnant, she will usually begin to worry less and less about the possibility of a miscarriage, as the risks of this tragedy happening are much lower by month five. Each and every pregnant woman and her partner have their own ideas about when they want to tell people about the pregnancy, but many fear telling their loved ones because of superstitions about losing the baby early on in the pregnancy. This is why this is generally the time when many expectant parents decide to tell others that they are going to have a baby.
If you have been hiding the news of your pregnancy up until this point, it is also a good idea to reveal it to those closest to you, as this is the month that many women begin to really start showing their bump. This is because your uterus is now being raised up towards your naval, which means that your belly is likely to be quite prominent by the end of the month.
5th Month Of Pregnancy
By this time in the pregnancy many women report having trouble focusing on things for a long period of time, and they often have bouts of forgetfulness, along with clumsiness. This combination often leads to a lot of frustration in many expectant mothers, but it is really quite common and nothing to be upset about.
Many women also become quite despaired at the fact that they are gaining more and more weight, as this is one of the months that you will most likely see the most dramatic increase in your weight. However, this is usually a good sign that you are having a healthy pregnancy and is something that should be celebrated, not looked at in a negative manner.
Some expectant mothers will begin to notice swollen ankles around this time and they may also experience such things as hemorrhoids, bleeding gums and frequent nosebleeds.
Despite all of this, this is also a very exciting month as you should be feeling more energetic than you did in your first trimester, and some expectant mothers may even be able to feel the first flutters of their baby moving around.
How Your Baby Is Developing
Most of your baby’s significant organs have formed and are continuing to be developed. While your baby’s teeth have already been developed, the adult teeth buds are also starting to grow as well. The vernix, which is a protective coating that develops on your baby’s skin, is also growing as well
Your baby now weighs between 9 to 10 ounces and is almost 10 inches long.
