Eight Months Pregnant
Many women who are eight months pregnant began to have severe itching as their belly starts to really expand. Some expectant mothers may only have slight itching, while others may experience severe itchiness and describe it as being almost unbearable at times. Women at this stage in their pregnancy also become quite fearful of stretch marks, and will usually buy various creams that are on the market to help prevent this from happening. It is important to note that a woman is usually at the most risk of developing stretch marks in the final two months of her pregnancy.
Around this time you may also be feeling what is known as Braxton Hicks contractions (Braxton Hicks Vs Real Contractions). These contractions are not real contractions, and end up sending many women to the hospital prematurely, only to be sent back home because they are not actually in labor. It is important for you to educate yourself about these types of contractions and how to determine the difference between what they feel like, and what a real contraction feels like.
8th Month Of Pregnancy
During this final stretch of your pregnancy, you may find yourself tiring quite easily and becoming quite anxious for your baby to be born. As this final trimester starts to wind down, many women start to become apprehensive about the labor process and worry about how painful it will be to give birth. This is again why it is important to take some type of pain management class to help you deal with this anxiety both before and during the actual labor.
Not only is there the fear of stretch marks at this point in the pregnancy, but many women worry about the development of varicose veins as well. On top of all of this, there is also the discomfort of the increasing pressure that your growing belly is putting on your back and joints.
This is why if you are still able to exercise, that you stay active and try to keep your body moving, even if it is light exercise such as a brief walk.
How Your Baby Is Developing
Your baby will continue to develop the fat that will shape the body and keep him or her warm once born. Your baby also has fully grown fingernails at this point and is important to note that once your child is born, that it is most likely he or she will have black nails. This is perfectly natural and nothing for you to be alarmed about. Eventually the nails will turn a bright pink color, shortly after being born.
Your baby will now weigh anywhere between 3 1/2 to 4 pounds and be almost 16 inches long.
